The music department provides a vibrant and nurturing program that seeks to inspire students to explore their full musical interests through curricular and co-curricular programs. Students are involved in various performing groups that promote a diversity of music styles such as jazz, classical and popular music. Through participation in jazz ensembles, concert bands, the string ensemble and choral ensemble, students perform at school concerts, performance festivals and international trips.
Performance skills are the fundamental focus of the music program, but students also explore their creative abilities through traditional and electronic compositions. As preparation for the International Baccalaureate program, students develop recording studio techniques using recording and sequencing software.
We believe that diversity of exposure to the music industry and various musical cultures helps students engage all aspects of their creative potential.
