Join us to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Stephen House at the Norval spring family open house

Norval's spring open house will be held on Sunday, May 3 from from 1 to 3 p.m.

We're often asked: "Why don't you offer some of your fun Norval programs for parents and families?"

Our seasonal open houses are just that: a chance for families to come and try some of the great Norval activities that your boys have been talking about. Come join us and try out some of our favourites.

 1.  Try our photo scavenger hunt. We'll give you photographs of certain places or things at Norval, as well as a list of items to find. The idea is to find these things and take their picture. Use your own camera or borrow one of ours.

 2.  Come visit the new Norval garden. The boys have worked hard to create this appealing and educational garden that includes herbs, flowers and vegetables. Speak with our resident gardener, Ms. Livingston, about tricks you can use to spruce up your own garden.

 3.  Did you know there are three kinds of crayfish that live in the Credit River? Help us catch (and release) some of them and see what we find. Please bring rubber boots for this activity, as you'll have to wade into the river a little bit.

We'll have food, refreshments and displays in Stephen House. There's no charge and friends, family members and dogs on leashes are all welcome. This May marks the 50th anniversary of the dedication of Stephen House at Norval by R.A. Laidlaw from the class of 1904. We'll mark this special anniversary by enjoying stories of appreciation from past Norval directors and members of the Laidlaw family, a photo display of Stephen House's construction and a really big birthday cake.

Please email Courtney McNeillie in the Association office at association@ucc.on.ca to register. Please indicate the number of people attending.

Directions to Norval: Take Highway 401 west to Winston Churchill Boulevard. Follow Winston Churchill Boulevard north and go through the Village of Norval. Continue straight ahead. The entrance to the Norval property is on your left, 1.2 kilometres north of the village stoplight. The drive takes about 50 minutes from UCC in light traffic.

Young Alumni Events

Young Old Boys Night Out

The seventh annual "Young Old Boys Night Out" will be on Wednesday, June 10 at El Tequila Y Tacos.

The restaurant is located at 220 King St. W. and owned by Andreas Antoniou ’02.

Young Old Boys Night Out is an annual, exclusive downtown Toronto gathering of young alumni who've graduated within the last 15 years (2000 to 2014). The event provides a great opportunity for Old Boys to get together and rehash tales of their glory days at UCC. Young Old Boys Night Out is sure to bring together classmates who haven’t seen each other in a few years (or since last weekend) and get everyone revisiting a memory or two.

Young Old Boys Night Out is hosted by the Young Alumni Network. Please click here to register.

Please contact alumni relations and Common Ties manager Lindsay Tarvit at ltarvit@ucc.on.ca or 416-488-1125, ext. 3357 for information about the event and the Young Alumni Network.
