Common Ties Mentorship

Common Ties celebrates 10 years

The Common Ties Mentorship Program has become the flagship alumni relations program at Upper Canada College, and this year marks its 10th anniversary as such. The program was created in 2004 by Old Boy David Caspari ’67 to formalize something that has always taken place: discussions between Old Boys about their professional lives.

The program has seen almost 700 Old Boys register as mentees and 350 Old Boys register as mentors to date. These numbers are made even more impressive by taking into account those who've participated in the program through our networking events, the Link Mentorship Program, and all IB1 and IB2 students who now benefit from annual resumé and interview workshops.

In celebration of the program’s 10th anniversary, a feature article will appear in March’s Old Times highlighting the strong relationship between Sanzhar Sultanov ’07 and Louden Owen ’76. The program is also hosting 10 networking events in 2014 that will take us on the road to Vancouver, Boston, London, England and New York, as well as many events in Toronto.
