The parents, faculty, students and old boys that comprise UCC’s Arts Booster Club believe in the tremendous creativity of the boys. The ABC’s primary purpose is to bring the “small school” successes of arts students to the attention of the broader “whole school” community. It also seeks out opportunities for art students to contribute to school life and school spirit by performing and displaying their work throughout the year.
The ABC’s goals are:
Find opportunities ...
for boys who contribute to the arts at UCC to perform and display their work. The ABC promotes participation of arts students in as many school events as possible, including assemblies, the Terry Fox Run, Association Day, Festive Marketplace, Winterfest, Founder's Dinner, fundraisers and others.
Celebrate art students ...
and their work at the annual Nuit Bleue. This festival showcases the cumulative work of students in music, film, visual art, literature and theatre at UCC. The ABC also documents UCC art happenings with news stories, photos and video.
Invite successful role models ...
in the arts so UCC students can learn from their experiences. The ABC actively encourages Old Boys, parents and other community members active in any area of the arts to share their journey with the boys.
