Clubs are really extended learning opportunities. Not only will they widen students’ horizons (e.g., give them a chance to explore and find activities that they truly enjoy), but they foster self-esteem and confidence in a fun environment. You’ll find students who participate in clubs are motivated self-starters, and their club success tends to carry over into their academic life. Students who become involved in clubs will find it even helps them to overcome barriers in their academic studies.
There’s something for every student in UCC’s extracurricular club programs. In fact, there are more than 80 clubs — organized according to the IB’s Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) categories — covering interests from cooking to chess to poetry to robotics.
