Giving back to the community is a central element of the UCC education, but the school strives to teach the boys that service learning is more than a string of fundraising events. It begins with a thorough discussion on community needs, followed by in-depth research and acting on one’s convictions.
At the Prep, we seek authentic service experiences, ideally student-initiated and driven. Starting at Grade 7, boys receive training on taking action and to complete a values inventory to choose an initiative of meaning to their class, which is ideally linked to what they are studying in class.
