Norval Outdoor School

Students will recall happy memories of outings when they worked as part of a team to build a bridge over flooded land or mastered the challenge of constructing a log cabin as pioneers did. And they never forget the sounds of nature on their first night hike, the scent of pine trees or the thrill of tobogganing with their teachers.

Family members can get a glimpse of the tremendous outdoor education experience that students enjoy through a series of open houses at the Norval Outdoor School.

Family Open House Days at Norval
The Norval Outdoor School provides many programs for students throughout the school year. Because of these activities and the relatively small staff at Norval, drop-in visits from the UCC community can't be accommodated. However, the school provides several opportunities throughout the year for UCC families, including alumni and their families, to explore Norval:

  • Norval fall theme open house in October
  • Norval winter theme open house in January
  • "Maple Madness" open house in March
  • Norval spring theme open house in May

Please refer to the UCC calendar for specific dates and times of these events.

Norval Outdoor School Open House for Prep Families
One family open house is designed for Prep families, especially those new to the Prep. Prep families are invited to visit early in September so that they can familiarize themselves with the faculty, the program, the facilities and the grounds of this wonderful College asset.

Please refer to the UCC Prep calendar for the date and time of this event.
